University of Western Ontario partners with Copernicus Publications to support open-access publishing

Copernicus Publications is pleased to announce a new institutional agreement with Western Libraries at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, supporting authors in publishing their research open access.

Under this agreement, Western Libraries will cover 50% of the article processing charges (APC) for articles published in any Copernicus journal, provided that the corresponding author is affiliated with the University of Western Ontario and the manuscript is submitted after 1 January 2026.

This partnership strengthens Western’s commitment to open-access publishing and supports its researchers in sharing their work widely and transparently. Authors who meet the eligibility criteria will automatically benefit from the reduced APC when their article is published. No additional steps are required.
