OASPA board of directors election 2018

We are very happy to announce that Dr. Xenia van Edig, responsible for Business Development at Copernicus, has been re-elected as a member of the board of directors of the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA).

Since 2008, it has been OASPA's mission to support and represent the interests of open-access (OA) journal and book publishers globally in all scientific, technical, and scholarly disciplines. Through a shared interest in developing appropriate business models, tools, and standards to support OA publishing, OASPA aims to ensure a prosperous and sustainable future for the benefit of its members and the scholarly communities they serve.

Xenia has been on the OASPA board since September 2015 and has been chairing OASPA's membership committee since February 2017. "Being an open-science enthusiast for many years, I am very much looking forward to continuing my commitment within the OASPA board," Xenia states. "Being on the OASPA board enables me to actively contribute to the advancement of open access and open science by promoting best practices and by aligning open access and open science to the needs of different scientific communities, associations, funders, research organizations, and last – but certainly not least – the individual scientists and their various research outputs."
