Copernicus Publications has extended the article level metrics (ALMs) by showing the geographical distribution of views. This information is available for articles published after 3 August 2016.
The metrics tab of each article shows how often the article was viewed, cited, saved, and discussed. Until now, the section "viewed" contained two graphs: the number of views per month as well as the cumulative number of views since publication. Now, a new section has been added showing the geographical distribution of these views.
In addition to the sheer numbers, a world map is shown where the respective countries are highlighted in different shades of grey. The geographical distribution of views is available for articles published after 3 August 2016. For interactive journals, the new section is shown for discussion papers published after 3 August 2016.
