Direct settlement of APCs for scientists from the University of Potsdam

The Potsdam University Library and Copernicus Publications have signed an agreement on central billing of article processing charges (APCs) for papers by authors affiliated with the University of Potsdam.

From now on, invoices for articles published in any open-access journal by Copernicus Publications are sent directly to the Potsdam University Library, where they are covered. This makes the procedure easier for the authors and more efficient for the library.

“With this agreement the University of Potsdam further encourages all its researchers to publish their research findings in open-access journals,” stated Martin Rasmussen, Managing Director of Copernicus Publications. “We are happy to support this effort and make life easier for the authors, too.”

The contract is effective from 1 July 2015 and covers article processing charges for articles whose first author is affiliated with the University of Potsdam. If the author has not submitted an application for the University of Potsdam's open-access publication fund or if the application is not accepted, the author will receive an invoice from the respective faculty later on.
