Production Process
  • Once the reviewed and accepted article is received by the Production Office, the new text and figure files are inspected in view of the Manuscript Preparation & Submission and, where necessary, the author is requested to re-submit files in accordance to specification.
  • The text is composed and edited in accordance to the overall lay-out of the publication, and the figure files are manipulated to match a certain size and a certain content of pixels for an easy access on the Web.
  • The text and figures are now combined and the entire article formatted, and all links are activated for electronic publication (Typeset 1).
  • Where necessary, the article is copy-edited and the changes are incorporated into the text (Typeset 2).
  • The PDF file of the article is sent to the author for galley-proof reading with the request to return the corrections within 48 hours. The corrections are then incorporated into the text (Typeset 3).
  • In case all authors of an issue/volume have agreed to pay service charges, the respective author will receive an invoice regarding the amount of service charges for his/her article together with the galley proof document. It should be understood that his/her article will only be processed further after the payment of the service charges has been received by the EGU Accounting Office.
  • The article is now ready for publication. In case of an electronic publication, the article is paged and uploaded onto the Web straight away. For books  published in the classical issue/volume style, the respective articles are combined and paged accordingly, the entire issue or volume is transformed into one PDF file and send to the Printer's.
  • Instead of off-prints, the author receives the final PDF file of his/her article.
