Guidelines for Student Assistance for EGS General Assemblies
The EGS invites students in the geo and space sciences who speak and understand English to assist the EGS staff in running the General Assemblies. This includes
In general, the working hours are from 08:00-19:00 at every day of the meeting (it varies during the assembly week and depends on the different jobs) and, with regard to the registration, on the day before the meeting from 16:00-20:00. Moreover, any lecture room or poster area job can be shared to allow assistants to attend/sit in their favorite sessions.
A general introduction to the various tasks is provided on the day when the official registration starts.
In return the EGS is ready to provide
In this way the EGS intends to support about 55 students to participate in its General Assembly free. If you are a student in the geosciences or in the planetary and space sciences, an if you are familiar with the English language, and if you are interested in assisting the EGS Staff in running the General Assembly, you are kindly asked to complete and return the Student Assistance Application Form by 07 March 2003 at the latest. On a "first come-first go" basis we will confirm your application about 4 weeks prior to the conference. Those who will not have confirmed their participation 2 weeks before the assembly at the very latest do not have an automatic refusal on a job.
