EGS - AGU - EUG Joint Assembly 2003 - Educational Programme

General Information

The EGS - AGU - EUG Joint Assembly 2003 will be held in the Nice-Acropolis Congress Center in Nice, France, from Monday-Friday, 07-11 April 2003. On Sunday, 06 April 2003, registration will start at 14:00, and there will be an open Reception in honour of the Conveners and Programme Committee Members from 18:30-20:30 in Les Muses, 3rd floor.

This Joint Assembly will be the first one of its kind, joining all geoscientists of the world into one meeting and covering all disciplines of geosciences: geology, geochemistry, geophysics and geobiology alike. More than 8.000 scientists are expected to attend this unique Mega Event with more than 500 topical sessions, Union and Educational Symposia, Short Courses and Workshops, Key Note and Medal Lectures and Townhall Meetings as well as separate meetings of working groups. 

In view of this importance a special Educational Programme has been included as well as a special Workshop for Teachers, in order to bringing together Geosciences' Research and Students of both schools and universities.

Moreover, the Session Conveners were invited to select those contributions of their sessions which they think that they could be of interest for the Educational Programme. These contributions are compiled in the Educational Abstract Overview, where the summaries can be studied and the contact coordinates of the authors can be downloaded for further requests.

Registration of Teachers

Teachers of all nations are welcome to attend this conference and to register in advance by 7 March 2003 at the very latest by completing and returning the Teachers-Pre-Registration Form. Registration at the meeting at the opening hours of the conference office is also possible. The registration for teachers is free-of-charge, and upon registration at the meeting the registrant will receive his/her name badge, the programme book and the abstract CD-ROM of the conference. The name badge provides access to any of the scientific sessions of the conference free of extra charges.

Eligibility for registration a as teacher is limited to the following persons

Note: Representatives of publishing houses, for-profit corporations, and the business side of education must pre-register through the normal pre-registration web site or register at the main registration desk at the conference and pay the appropriate fees.
