Deadline for Application 18 January 2002, 12:00 GMT |
In principle, it is expected that authors of contributions, which have been scheduled for presentation, will secure their participation in the conference on their own without any financial assistance provided by the EGS. However, a limited amount of the overall budget of the conference is reserved to assist the younger and more recently established scientists in Europe and North America to attend the General Assemblies of the Society:
| Support for Young
Scientists Scientists, who are less than 30 years old on 31 December of the year of the EGS meeting and who intend to present a paper at the Society's meeting, of which they are the principal author may apply for one of the following support awards: |

for Europeans (YSTA) Free registration and a financial support to the travel expenditures of max. 300,- EUR. |
| Adrian
Gill Travel Award (AGTA) Free registration and a financial support towards travel expenditure of max. 300,- EUR for a young scientist from Britain to take part in an OA Symposium. |
|
| Keith Runcorn Travel Award for
North Americans (KRTA) Free registration and a financial support to the travel expenditures of max. 500,- EUR. |
Application

Evaluation
Abstracts of applications for financial support are very critically reviewed in view of their excellence and importance for the meeting. Although the budget for the support programme is quite substantial, not every Session will get an award!

All Applicants will be informed about the outcome of the selection by the EGS Office, and they must confirm their participation in the meeting by the deadline date; otherwise they will not be included in the programme anymore! |
