EGS 2001 - Registration

Deadline for Pre-Registration: 28 February 2001

No Waiving of Registration Fees

In general, each participant in an EGS General Assembly has to pay registration fee. These fees will be waived only for scientists receiving a Support Award or a Society Award or Medal.

Pre-Registration

Participants are advised to register in advance by using the Pre-Registration Form, in particular, since by the beginning of January 2001 all main authors will have been informed about the acceptance (Early Bird Rates) and by mid February 2001 about the exact day and time of their contribution (Normal Rates). The final deadline for pre-registration will be 28 February 2001!

On-Site Registration

On-site registration (On-Site Rates) will be possible at the Congress Counter in the entrance hall of the congress centre on:

Participants wishing to receive a free subscription for 2001 for either Annales Geophysicae, Hydrology and Earth System Sciences, Natural Hazards and Earth System SciencesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics or Geophysical Research Abstracts should pre-register at On-Site Rates and should be a Member for 2001, otherwise they should include their Membership Fee for 2001!

Award Buffet

Participants in the EGS 2001 General Assembly are invited to celebrate with the EGS Awardees and Medalists of the year on Sunday, 25 March 2001, at around 19:00 in Les Muses (Level 3). The contribution is 35,- EUR per person. Each attendee must register separately and before 28 February 2001! On-site tickets will not be available.

The Buffet includes also fish and vegetarian dishes.

Method of Payment

Pre-Registration payments may be made either by Postal Money Order or by Cheque or by Credit Card (American Express, Eurocard/Mastercard or VISA) and in the currencies EURO (EUR), Pounds Sterling (GBP) and US Dollars (USD).

We do not send any invoices nor do we accept any orders or bank transfers!

On-site registration payments may be made in cash in French Francs (FRF) at the actual conversion rate, by Eurocheque, by Cheque in the currencies EURO, Pounds Sterling, or US Dollars or by Credit Card (American Express, Eurocard/ Mastercard or VISA).

Attention: Cheques will only be accepted when written in the currency of the country of the bank on which the cheques are actually drawn and when a cheque fee of the equivalent of 5,- EUR has been added!

Benefits

The registration fee includes

  1. free publication of the abstract in the EGS journal Geophysical Research Abstracts,
  2. possibility of publishing the presentation free of charge as "proceedings paper" in the EGS journal Physics and Chemistry of the Earth or as and extended article in one of the topical journals of the EGS (only in case the convener has decided on the publication of Proceeding of his /her session)
  3. free annual subscription to any journal owned by the EGS for attendees (pre-)registering at full Membership ON-SITE Rates,
  4. the conference material incl. the Abstracts CD and the Programme Book, refreshments during breaks and the participation in all the activities during the meeting, incl. the icebreaker reception.

Attention:   Registrants will receive only ONE Letter of Receipt from the EGS Office about the total sum of the registration fee!
