OA8. The role of physical processes in ocean biological cycles:

Event Information

This session aims to address how physical processes influence the marine ecosystem and the biological cycling within the ocean. There is currently a lack of understanding in how the physics interacts with the maine ecosystem in the upper ocean through changes in circulation, convection and mixing, particularly on the ocean eddy and frontal scales, as well as on the basin scale. Contributions are welcomed from observational (e.g. JGOFS local studies, satellite data), theoretical and modelling studies, which examine the interaction of the physics and the biological cycling for the open or coastal ocean.
