OA7. Operational oceanography: existing systems, developments and future potential:

Event Information

This session will attempt to provide an overview of integrated systems which are used or being developed in operational oceanography. This may include systems for prediction of waves, currents or other marine parameters on all spatial and time scales from near coast to global applications. We encourage submittal of papers describing existing systems which are currently in operation both at governmental and commercial institutes, and papers on industry applications of operational oceanography, e.g. hindcast, forecast and impact studies for offshore and coastal industry. We also encourage submittal of papers on real time data acquisition and processing for operational oceanography, and more detailed papers on the scientific development of new sophisticated systems which may benefit future operational oceanography.
