Event Information
1) Recent changes observed in the Mediterranean Ecosystem Changes in the physical, chemical and biological properties have been observed in the Mediterranean environment. The presentations must quantify and give interpretation of these changes. 2) Interannual variability of the Mediterranean ecosystem Historical and recent observations allow to better define the status and trends of the Mediterranean ecosystem. Advances in the study of interannual variability and main processes sustaining the thermohaline circulation and the impact on the environment. 3) Observe and forecast the Mediterranean ecosystem Operational systems have been developed/implemented recently. The presentations should address the main achievements of these systems in terms of: management of the marine and coastal ecosystem, contribution to the understanding of the status and trends of the marine and coastal ecosystem. 4) Emerging environmental issues of Mediterranean relevance. Impact of anthropogenic activities on coastal systems. What are the new environmental issues deriving from the changes in the production system in the Mediterranean countries.
