Event Information

This session is intended to present recent developments in dynamic meteorology with a special focus on results from the field experiments FASTEX and MAP. A retrospect on these major field programs should serve to discuss the current state of research on extratropical cyclones, surface and upper-tropospheric fronts and orographic flows, as well as the mutual interactions of these flow systems. Also particularly welcome are presentations about the severe 1999/2000 winter storms, upcoming field programs and the predictability of mid-latitude weather systems, including the theoretical basis for targeted observations.
