HSB1.01 Water resources assessment: Water resources assessment for catchment management
Event Information
Water resources management has until recently focused mainly on surface and sub-surface runoff flow, so-called blue water, targeting mainly downstream domestic, industrial and irrigation needs. This session invites papers with a broader scope of water resources research, addressing management implications of water flow partitioning into green (evaporation and transpiration flows) and blue water branches of the hydrological cycle. Focus will also be on water resource assessments for natural resource management at catchment or river basin scale. Papers are also welcome that focus on strategies to manage trade-off's between evapotranspiration requirements for production of ecosystem service upstream (e.g., rainfed agriculture, forests, biodiversity) and blue water flows downstream.
