ST6.02 Processes and issues of the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere (co-sponsored by OA): Stratosphere-troposphere exchange

Event Information

We encourage contributions on all aspects of tropical and extratropical stratosphere-troposphere exchange and its implications. By this we mean any relevant research on the chemistry, radiation, dynamics, transport and mixing in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere on global, synoptic, or smaller scales, including questions concerning the tropopause itself. This includes recent satellite, airborne or groundbased observations and model studies of any type. Papers on long-term changes in the tropopause and the implications for observed trends in ozone and water vapour are particularly welcomed. It is expected that part of this session will be held jointly with the session `Transport and mixing in geophysical flows'.
