SE9.01 Lithospheric deformation: Analysis of lithospheric deformation: integration of rheological, numerical and analogue models
Event Information
This symposium aims to integrate rheological, numerical and scale-model approaches to the analysis of lithospheric deformation and related tectonic processes. Large-scale dynamics and small-scale deformation mechanisms are equally important in determining lithospheric behaviour. Knowledge of this behaviour enhances the possibility of more realistic geodynamic models and also allows to set critical boundary conditions for geohazard zonation studies. Contributions in all three fields are welcome, especially when focusing on the relevance of the results to the overall advancement of our understanding of lithospheric behaviour.
