Event Information
The session is dedicated to new research in archaeological prospection and its applications. Papers on technical developments, as well as innovative case studies, are welcome. Topics to be be covered in the session include the development on new instruments for on-site measurements; advances in laboratory based measurements of physical parameters relevant to on-site investigations; new prospection techniques adopted to suit new or already known archaeological targets; the use of modelling for the prediction of the detectability of archaeological targets and for the interpretation of data; the use of inverse modelling for the reconstruction of archaeological targets; signal processing for filtering, enhancement and noise removal; new advances in data visualisation. Papers using multi-method approaches and papers related to integrated case studies of regional scope are particularly encouraged.
