OA9.02 High latitude ocean and sea-ice dynamics: Antarctic ocean and sea ice processes

Event Information

The aim of this session is to present recent results from observational and modeling activities focused on the atmosphere-ice-ocean system of Antarctic Seas. Contributions reporting on both local processes and large-scale aspects of Antarctic oceanography (e.g., from international programmes like WOCE, WOCE-AIMS, iAnZone, ASPeCt) are accepted. Main themes will include (but are not limited to) the general circulation and thermohaline structure (deep and bottom water formation, deep ocean ventilation and their interannual variability), sea ice dynamics and thermodynamics, and sub-ice shelf processes.
