OA1. Numerical methods in ocean and atmosphere modelling:

Event Information

Numerical methods devoted to ocean and atmosphere modelling are rapidly progressing. Advances in discretisation techniques should be presented, which may regard the representation of advective processes, the treatment of local and non-local turbulence closure schemes, various types of coordinate transformation, unstructured grid model development, resolution enhancement over regions of particular interest, etc. The implementation of models on massively parallel computers, the numerical aspects of data assimilation methods, the development of skill analysis techniques and the results of model intercomparison programmes are also worth being being reported.
