NH3.01 Risk mapping: Landslides and floods
Event Information
This symposium deals with the use of new techniques for mapping hazard and risk for landslides. New approaches in the use of multi-temporal and/or multi-scala remote sensing data and image processing techniques for quantitative evaluation of lindslide hazards will be the focus of this symposium as well as the integration of remote sensing data with ground truth data in Geographic Information Systems. Several approaches for the evaluation of landslide hazard using GIS will be dealt with, such as heuristic, statistical or deterministic methods. Also the relation between hazard and risk assessment for landslides, and the problems encountered in quantifying both is a topic talk that will be treated.
