HS01. Hydrology in the 20th century: lessons from the past and challenges for the future:

The opportunity of the millennium assembly is taken to organise a session that is expected to bridge the history of modern hydrology with challenging task of the next century. For this reason, the session has been designed as collection of invited lectures. Outstanding scientists active in the different fields of hydrological sciences have been invited to offer their view on a number of issues, which are likely expected to be the core of research in Hydrology along the beginning of the coming century. Referred subjects will include lectures on Hydrology, Land-Atmosphere Interactions and the Global Scale, Hydrology and Weather Processes, Hydrology, Surface Processes, Hazards and Water Emergencies, Hydrology and Ecosystems, and Hydrology and Subsurface Water. Invited lectures only.
